On Thursday, November 5, 2009 thousands of students and community members in and around Toronto took to the streets to fight for accessible post-secondary education and an end to poverty.

In October, a Statistics Canada report was released that shows that Ontario has surpassed all other provinces in having the highest tuition in Canada. This is the result of the Ontario Government and Premier Dalton McGuinty's post-secondary funding program called 'The Reaching Higher Framework.'

The number of families that can afford tuition fees gets less and less and the total weight of debt from student loans surpasses a baffling $13.3 Billion.

The Reaching Higher Framework expires this December, so this time is crucial for student action for accessible education.
